The island of Losinj is a part of the Cres-Losinj archipelago, the largest group of islands in the Croatian Adriatic. The islands of Losinj include Losinj, Unije, Ilovik, Susak, Vela and Mala Srakana, and another 30 smaller islands, islets and crags.
Mali Losinj is the largest town on the Adriatic islands which offers all the necessary tourist services, even though only a 15-minute walk away you will be able to find an isolated cove, far from the everyday stress of modern civilisation. Here, the Mediterranean with its scents and beauties is very close to Europe, while the exceptional climate and centuries of tradition in tourism make our islands an ideal place to relax body and soul throughout the year.
Thanks to its exceptional climate Losinj was announced a climatic health resort by the decree of the Ministry of Health of the Austro-Hungarian monarchy. The climate is particularly suitable for those suffering from breathing disorders and allergies.
The annual hours of sun amount to 2,580 hours (the same as Palermo), the temperature falls below zero just twice a year, and fog is recorded three days a year. The temperature rarely rises above 30°C, while the tall pine forests and the summer landward breeze make summer afternoons very pleasant.
